About Schlessinger Media

For fifteen years Schlessinger Media's video productions and licensed programs have become staples in schools and public libraries throughout North America. With over 1,000 originally produced and licensed videos, this dynamic programming division of Library Video Company has set the standard for outstanding supplemental learning in and out of the classroom. The Schlessinger Media library focuses on a comprehensive core-curricular collection for grades K-8 as well as 9-12. Programs are available on VHS, DVD, and are now available in digitized formats to support digital delivery systems.

Schlessinger Media's high production standards, have resulted in many award-winning series including American History for Children, Ancient Civilizations for Children, Explorers of the World, Library Skills for Children, Reading for Children, Greek Mythology for Students and The Way Things Work.

Major national educational companies have recognized the unique value that Schlessinger Media enjoys in schools and libraries. Prentice Hall has correlated Schlessinger's United States History Video Collection to their industry-leading American Nation textbook. Penguin Television has co-produced David Macaulay's best-selling The Way Things Work book with Schlessinger Media for television and video. Houghton Mifflin has selected 32 programs to correlate to their distinguished K-6 textbook series, Houghton Mifflin Social Studies. And Sesame Workshop has chosen Schlessinger Media to distribute Sesame English: ESL for Children, an innovative and engaging new video series which helps teach English as a Second Language.

Schlessinger Media has also created a landmark comprehensive science video library correlating with the National Science Education Content Standards for grades K-4 & 5-8. The Schlessinger Science Library is comprised of 162 videos in 19 engaging series. Award-winning series include Space Science for Children, Physical Science In Action, Human Body In Action and Weather Fundamentals.
