For sale in U.S. only-- Welcome to Morocco! In this program, students will tour the city of Marrakesh, starting with exploring Bahia Palace in the medina, the city's old quarter, and wandering through a lively and crowded souk to browse among all the fantastic items for sale: dates, carpets and even pet iguanas! Throughout the program, students will learn about some of the cultural traditions, history, climate and politics of Morocco, including how drinking mint tea is a symbol of hospitality. After visiting the Koutoubia Mosque, students will dance to the mystic rhythms of Gnawa music and then take in the sights and sounds of Jamaâ El Fna Square. Part of the Countries Around the World Series. A teacher's guide for the series is included and available online. Title-specific guides are available online.
