 Spencer Christian, weather forecaster of Good Morning America fame, hosts this very cool look at the amazing spectacle of weather in our world. Weather Fundamentals helps students understand the science behind weather phenomena, making it both accessible and fun.
Covering a wide range of weather events, the series takes kids on a whirlwind tour through everything from the formation of a rain droplet to the development of a tornado's vortex. Through dramatic live-action footage, vivid animated graphics, detailed weather maps and hands-on experiments suitable for science fair projects, students go beyond the daily weather forecast and into the realm of exploration, learning how to observe and think about the weather.
Part of the Schlessinger Science Library in Action. This series correlates to the National Science Education Standards for Grades 5-8 for Earth and Space Science -- structure of Earth's system, Earth's history and Earth in the solar system.
