PRODUCT SUMMARY
Addition is one way to figure out how many in all. In Addition, the concept of joining groups together to form a new group is illustrated using concrete objects from pies to penguins. Kids learn the ingredients in addition number sentences -- addends, sums, plus signs and equals signs -- and master terrific addition tips, including counting, adding with zero and doubles, making 10 and ordering addends. Students will discover how to add single- and double-digit numbers and understand when to regroup. Addition problems can be solved in lots of different ways -- with manipulatives, pencil and paper, or using estimation to find a ballpark estimate -- but every way to the right answer adds up to a home run! Part of the multivolume Math for Children Video Series. A Teacher's Guide is included and available online.
