Based on the Newbery Honor book by Marguerite Henry inspired by true events, this live-action feature tells the story of a special equine runt who becomes the first American breed of horse. Set in the late 1700s, the film chronicles the beginnings of the Morgan Horse Breed. When Justin Morgan acquires a runt named Figure, he decides to keep and train the special colt instead of using him to pay off debts. The horse's reputation quickly spreads across the Northeast, leading to the first American breed of horses. Disney Educational Production. c 1972 Disney.
