Linear relationships are all around us. Join our hosts as they tackle linear equations and slope -- two topics in algebra that go hand-in-hand. Through a series of real-world scenarios, see how a table of values, a graph and a formula or equation can be used to describe a linear equation. Investigate the graphs of linear equations and see how they change, depending on the slope of the line. Using tools such as the slope formula and slope-intercept form, students will explore slope with the constant reminder that, if the relationship between two sets of numbers is linear, you know you've got the graph of a line -- and you know you can calculate slope. Part of the multivolume Algebra for Students VHS Series. A teacher's guide is included and available online. |
" ...[uses] easy-to-understand real-life scenarios…Highly recommended." - Video Librarian (Sept/Oct 2007)"This video does a quality job of showing students how linear equations and slope applies to real life." - Library Media Connection (March 2008) "…Of special note are the real-world applications…outstanding and thoroughly 'student friendly'…Offer[s] a complete course…highly recommended as a math class curriculum supplement…" - Children's Bookwatch (May 2008)
