Easter, the most important feast day of Christian religions, is also a celebration for spring and rebirth. In this program, children visit the home of a Polish-American family, where they discover the festivities and traditions associated with Easter Sunday. They are introduced to the Greek myth of the seasons and experience a high-spirited Greek festival as dancers perform to joyful music dedicated to the coming of spring. In an arts and crafts segment, children learn how to make their very own Easter Bunny basket from milk cartons. Part of the multivolume Holidays for Children DVD Series. A teacher's guide is included and is available online. |
