PRODUCT SUMMARY
For sale in U.S. only-- Welcome to Rwanda! In this program, students begin their travels in the capital city of Kigali. There, they will browse through an outdoor market after experiencing a quiet and reflective moment at the Kigali Memorial Centre -- a memorial built to remember those who fell victim to the genocide of 1994. Throughout the program, students will learn about some of the cultural traditions, history, climate and politics of Rwanda, including how agriculture is important to Rwanda's economy. Students will leave the capital and travel to the countryside to help harvesters pick tea leaves. Then, it's off to the province of Nyanza to visit a former royal residence, watch Intore dancers perform, and encounter some monkeys and gorillas in a natural game reserve. Part of the Countries Around the World Series. A teacher's guide for the series is included and available online. Title-specific guides are available online.
