In this program, students begin their travels in the capital city of Moscow to see some of its famous sights: Red Square, the Kremlin, the Bolshoi Theatre and the Duma, Russia's National Assembly building. After admiring the colorful spires of St. Basil's Cathedral and attending Mass in a Russian Orthodox Church, students will shop in a market for traditional Russian fare. Throughout the program, students will learn about some of the cultural traditions, history, climate and politics of Russia, including how some symbols of communism are still prevalent in Moscow today. As the culmination of their journey, students will head out to the snow-covered countryside to vacation at a dacha and grill shashlyk over a barbeque before ice skating on a frozen lake. Dosvedanya!
