PRODUCT SUMMARY
For sale in U.S. only-- Welcome to Jordan! In this program, students will travel to the capital city of Amman and wander through the ruins of a Roman amphitheater on the way to a souk -- an Arab market -- to shop for spices to make mansaf, a traditional Jordanian dish. Throughout the program, students will learn about some of the cultural traditions, history, climate and politics of Jordan, including an introduction to the Bedouins, a nomadic tribe. Before their journey ends, students will visit the Folklore Museum, listen to the muezzin call the faithful to prayer and travel through a narrow canyon to the ancient city of Petra. Part of the Countries Around the World Series. A teacher's guide for the series is included and available online. Title-specific guides are available online.
