 In this program, students will study both phenomena from their development to the full-blown storms that wreak havoc on land. Through satellite images, Doppler radar, graphics and storm footage, this program shows how meteorologists and "storm chasers" use data such as location, movement, wind speed, temperature and air pressure to predict the course of these storms, and provide early warnings to people living in their path. In a hands-on experiment, students will re-create the circular pattern of a tornado's vortex to further illustrate these concepts.
