PRODUCT SUMMARY

Reese Witherspoon, Colin Firth and Rupert Everett star in this comedy about mistaken identity directed by Oliver Parker. In the story, two handsome, young bachelors find themselves in outrageous deceptions over love. Whenever Worthing wants to leave his dull country life behind, he visits the city, posing as his fictitious "brother" Ernest. While in the city, he becomes smitten with a beauty named Gwendolen. When Worthing is away, his playboy pal named Algy is back in the country impersonating the fictitious Ernest and wooing Worthing's young and beautiful ward, Cecily. Pandemonium ensues when these two would-be Ernests find themselves face to face and in the predicament of explaining who they really are. Produced by Barnaby Thompson. Based on Oscar Wilde's stage classic.
