PRODUCT SUMMARY

For sale in U.S. and Canada only-- Meet Giang, a 12-year-old girl living in northern Vietnam with her parents, brother, sister and grandmother. Because her parents work long days in the rice fields, Giang has many household responsibilities, including preparing meals, feeding the family's pigs and looking after her younger cousins. Her family practices the Buddhist religion and worships at a pagoda twice a month. Giang and her family are very close with their extended family members and local villagers -- everyone always helps one another. A Teacher's Guide is included and available online. Part of the multivolume Families Around the World Video Series.

EDITORIAL REVIEWS

"The importance of family and cultural heritage is stressed...this glimpse into other children's lives is interesting and would provide excellent compare/contrast opportunities..."- School Library Journal (Sept 2003)
