PRODUCT SUMMARY

For sale in U.S. and Canada only-- Meet Yesha'ayahou, a 10-year-old boy living in Israel with his parents and five siblings. Yesha'ayahou and his family are Orthodox Jews, so learning and studying their religion is a very important part of their lives. Yesha'ayahou attends school for 11 hours every day, and on his days off he often studies the Bible or observes his father, a mohel, perform a religious ceremony called a bris. Every weekend, the family shares in a traditional kosher meal to celebrate the Sabbath. Join Yesha'ayahou as his family prepares traditional farewell festivities for his oldest brother, who is leaving home to study at a yeshiva. A Teacher's Guide is included and available online.

Part of the multivolume Families Around the World Video Series.

EDITORIAL REVIEWS

"The importance of family and cultural heritage is stressed...this glimpse into other children's lives is interesting and would provide excellent compare/contrast opportunities..."- School Library Journal (Sept 2003)
