 In All About the Uses of Energy, kids will learn that electricity is what keeps our world running. The program invites young viewers to imagine what life was like before electricity and how different life would be without it, while emphasizing how the availability of electricity transformed the lives of people around the world. Find out how giant generators create electricity using the mechanical energy of wind and water, or the awesome power of nuclear energy. Alternative resources such as solar energy are discussed as promising ways to generate electricity for the future. Children discover how steam spins electrical generators, and a fun, hands-on activity allows them to experience how the energy from steam can be put to work to turn a paddle wheel.
