Research goals are set at the beginning of the presentation, and then viewers learn basics such as the sun's composition, size, and its role in supporting life on this planet. Safety issues such as never looking directly at the sun and using sunscreen are emphasized. New words are shown onscreen and defined. Both metric and U.S. customary measures are used. Several simple science experiments are shown. The sun's role in seasons and the water cycle is explained. Tools used to observe the sun, such as Skylab, Ulysses and Soho, are discussed. Both video and audio quality are excellent. Teachers will find this crisp, clear introduction to the sun a valuable addition to their classrooms.
