Genocide, the systematic destruction of a group of people, associated most readily with the Holocaust, tragically remains a major global issue today. Despite the lessons learned from planned exterminations such as the Armenian Massacre, the international response was limited in subsequent genocides in countries like Cambodia and Rwanda.
