PRODUCT SUMMARY

Based on the book by Jean Craighead George, this live-action adventure tells the story of 13-year-old Sam Gribley, whose hero is naturalist poet Henry David Thoreau. The film follows Sam's adventures over the course of a year living in the wilderness of the Laurentian Mountains in Quebec, Canada. Sam uses his journal to document his struggle for survival, his dependence on nature, his animal friends and his ultimate realization that he needs human companionship.
